THE SECRET WEAPON WE ALL HAVE BUT MIGHT NOT BE USING.

Guided imagery or visualization is a tool that was developed by Yogis thousands of years ago. Since then, it has become popular within the alternative and conventional medical communities.

Visualization is a technique in which you use your imagination to picture the challenges that lie ahead of you, to help you realize and achieve them.

You may associate visualization techniques with feel-good self-help guides, but some of the world’s greatest athletes take the practice very seriously. Many elite athletes routinely use visualization techniques as part of training and competition, and to significant effect.

Visualization could be the key to unlocking your full potential!

Visualization’s inception into sport comes as further scientific research is undertaken into the connections between mind and body connecting.

There are many stories of athletes who have used these techniques to cultivate not only a competitive edge but also to create renewed mental awareness, a heightened sense of well-being, and confidence. All of these factors have been shown to contribute to athletic success.

Visualization has also been called guided imagery, mental rehearsal, mediation, and a variety of other things. However, no matter the term, the basic techniques, and concepts are the same.

Generally speaking, visualization is the process of creating a mental image or intention of what you want to happen or feel in reality. The objective is to create such a lifelike experience that your body believes that it could be real.

IF YOU CAN THINK IT, YOU CAN DO IT.

Visualization is not just for athletes. Mental rehearsal has been proven to be effective time and time again for professional athletes, but its positive influence can help anyone achieve their goals. Whether you’re an athlete, entrepreneur, healthcare professional, public speaker or busy mom, visualization can help you improve your performance.

Visualization is a skill that needs to be developed over time, but with practice, everyone can visualize.

There are two keys principles to keep in mind when practicing visualization. The first is, your practice needs to be consistent. 10 minutes a day every day will always beat an intense hour-long session once a week.

The second key principle is to stay positive. Even if you can’t summon crystal clear images yet, you will still gain huge benefits from your visualization practice. All you have to do is connect to the image in whatever way you can.

The key to being successful through visualization is to visualize yourself achieving your goal or the outcome you are trying to achieve. Not that you are hoping to achieve it or that if you keep training hard, you can accomplish this goal in the future. You have to trick your mind into living and feeling the moment of success. You have to feel like you have already accomplished it. Your body will then become the person it needs to become to accomplish the outcomes you envision.

One of the most significant advantages of visualization is that you can do it anywhere – on the train, at home, at work. Your mind is truly powerful, so keep exploring and create the life you want with the help of visualization.

Start practicing right now. Imagine the outcome you are looking for. Maybe getting rid of back pain or getting promoted at work! Imagine what it would feel like if you accomplished that right now?

Try it out and let us know how it goes for you.
