Do You Believe In Magic?

Magicians get a bad rap. People either love them or hate them. It is understandable why some people don't like magicians, because well you know that what they are doing is not real. They are trying to trick you.⁠

The other half of people love magicians because of the way that the idea of magic makes them feel. We all want to believe that we have special powers, or to believe we can make things disappear and reappear.⁠

That is why half of people love magicians for the way they make them feel and the other half are skeptics because they know magic is not real. ⁠

I love magicians for both of these reasons. I love the feeling that magicians make me feel. They make me feel that magic is real and anything is possible, and with that mindset I believe that anything is possible.⁠

I also love logic and know that magicians are master show men and I appreciate that. No, magicians did not wake up with the ability to magically guess your card. They spend years even decades learning the art of deception and misdirection. It is truly an art. The same way it takes an artist decades to create a master piece is the same way a magician learns to make you feel those same emotions.⁠

That is the magic. That it takes year and years of practice to learn how to create the desired outcome of the audience. There are no tricks. Just years of hard work. We all wish we could buy a magic wand and wave it around and make our dreams come true, but as any artist or magician will tell you it takes years of practice for you to create your magic.⁠

That is the secret. You have the ability to create whatever magic you want in this world. The trick is you have to keep at it for long time. Many people give up after 1 or 2 tries at learning how to do a card trick. The people in this world who create magic are the ones who work on their powers everyday.⁠
