This Is NOT A New Year Resolution

Imagine that twice a year you go out to the same restaurant for a super-duper, special-occasion meal.

This particular restaurant is only open during normal business hours. And even though you made the reservations months ago, you still don’t know how long you will have to wait before you get seated, and you have no idea how fast the service will be, so you always have to clear out your work schedule for the rest of the day.  

You also don’t have any idea how long it will take for you to find parking, so you leave 30 minutes earlier than you probably need to (you refuse to pay the $20 valet charge).

When you get into the restaurant, you may or may not get a hello  or a nod of acknowledgement from the person behind the counter, and they may or may not ask you how you’re doing (and genuinely care or have the time to listen to your response)

When you’re finally asked to go to your table, you still have to wait MORE TIME, before a waiter ever gets to you.  

There’s no such thing as AMBIANCE at this restaurant - one window, fluorescent lights, drop ceiling and a carpet that’s OLD AF.  They don’t give you physical menus, so you have to either look at it before you get there and write down ahead of time the things you want OR you can listen to the waiter tell you what they have on the menu… but ONLY ONCE!   

To top it off, no one is able to tell you how much the food costs, AND everyone pays a shockingly different price, even though it’s for the exact same food and menu items…

Let's be real...I’m talking about healthcare… AND if you had this experience at a restaurant even once, you would NEVER go back.

BUT, when it comes to our health, and going to healthcare providers, most just expect this, and even worse, ACCEPT THIS type of experience as the norm… 

I say STOP THE MADNESS!!!!
